we cheered when they were killing the indians, i never cheered. i never understood it. but here i understand it. fear finally the actual bad guys get it, the slave owners. maybe america isn't ready for that and its ironic that spike is making this criticism. i understand when fox news criticizes because, whoa, that's my ancestors that you're talking about. >> i think america isn't ready but the great thing is we're starting to have this conversation about what slavery means, about what the legacy is today. you know, a lot of--this is not a historical film. i think sam jackson is right on by saying if you want to learn history, go see a documentary. but we were not called people of color in 1850. this is very much a part of american history. whether the the "n" word or slavery, you have to accept that this was very much a part of how america came into being and who we are. so again i'm disappointed because spike has made great films, and the fact that he won't see this, another great film, it's disappointing. >> cenk: one last thing that's what i thought, too. as i watch
